Freshwater Bay Pizza

What a lovely way to spend a Friday evening – stone baked pizza and the beach.

We walked down to Freshwater Bay enjoying the early evening Spring sunshine. We weren’t alone. There were a few groups of people sat on the beach and along the wall enjoying their pizza picnics. Some had come with wine and beer, good plan and one we will remember for our next visit.

While we waited for our pizzas to be cooked we wandered along the beach collecting shells and other treasures. The tide was going out, the waves washing the sandy gravel making that lovely whooshing sound bliss.

And then the pizzas – thin and crispy, a little singed on the edges. We chose ham and mushroom, pepperoni and black olives and a margarita with lovely little Isle of Wight cherry tomatoes. All very tasty and perfectly cooked. We will be back.
