They say living on the Isle of Wight is like stepping back in time. Saturday morning I thought I really had stepped back in time, into the early part of that last century.
I left the house, turned into The Avenue and was welcomed by the sight of dozens of vintage cars, most being driven by vintage chaps with elegant ladies by their side.
There were several parked outside the Memorial Hall with a stream of gleaming vehicles passing by. Car after car puttered by with jolly banter being exchanged through open tops and wound down windows accompanied by the odd honk of friendly sounding horns.
A lovely sight to start the day, beautifully restored cars from a bygone age.
